4 Top tips for choosing your wedding flowers
June 26th. 2017
You want your wedding flowers to be beautiful and here at Lilac Rose Bridal we have compiled top tips to help you understand the world of choosing your bridal flowers. As you might already know, some flowers are only available depending on the season.
- Be open minded about flower types for your wedding day.
There is nothing more disheartening for a bride than when she has her heart set on yellow peonies for an August wedding, only to find out that yellow peonies are just not naturally available in August. There are a ton of flowers available all year round, like roses, hydrangeas, carnations, callas and orchids etc, just to name a few. Knowing this one piece of information could make your wedding flower plan go much more smoothly.
- Be open minded about color
“Flower colors are never exact” Rely on your florist to help you with this. For example, a red flower could have an orange undertone next to cool colors. Remember many photos you see online or in magazine can often be misleading as the photographer can color correct the image and adjust tone and lighting, which doesn’t show how the flowers appear realistically.
- Make your wedding bouquet priority
“Never skimp on your bridal bouquet” it is the one floral design that will be on your mantel, your bedside locker, at your mother’s house, you’re in laws house and on your work desk – you need to love it! It needs to compliment your wedding dress style so if you have a 50s-inspired dress then your bouquet needs to compliment your dress.
- Know your budget
You need to apply a budget to buying your flowers for your wedding. You wouldn’t buy a car without telling the salesman in advance what you are in the market for so the same applies for every aspect of your wedding. Budget is key.
